Watch Stephanie represent a client before the 1st District Court of Appeals in Hamilton County, Ohio. The client received a sentence of 25 years to life after losing a jury trial. Stephanie was hired for the appeal. She argued that her client's conviction and sentence should be set aside for two reasons. First, contrary to hearsay rules of evidence and in violation of the client's Sixth Amendment right to confront witness against him, the trial court admitted a recording of statements by a witness who did not testify at trial. Second, the prosecutor committed prosecutorial misconduct when she repeatedly mischaracterized the nature of physical evidence in the case.
